Welcome to the world of my Podcast “For the Only One That Matters”!
As one of the three podcasts I am currently producing, the focal point of this particular podcast revolves around the faith aspect of Christian musicians. Not all Christian musicians are exclusively Church musicians… some are, but some aren’t. Some of us ply our trade in the secular marketplace as well as in the Church. Some of us feel that we are to be exclusively Church musicians, and believe it or not, some of us Christian musicians feel very strongly about NOT playing in churches, and play exclusively in non-church environs.
In this podcast series, I will speak to Church Worship leaders about old-school hymns and contemporary hymns, about the state of today’s Christian music scene, and how it has changed through the years.
I will also address issues revolving around church musicians who play in Church – discussing topics such as skill sets required to be successful in the Church music world such as the role of the individual musician in the ensemble, the musicians’ philosophy of worship, the need for understanding some theology of the Church and music.
I am also getting ready to plan a series where I interview NON-musicians i.e. congregants about their thoughts on the music of the church, and their views and opinions about the music ministry of their churches.
You can find the video versions of these podcasts on Youtube, and the audio-only versions on Spotify.
There will be a TON of things to talk about, and a TON of differing personalities. I hope you tune in!
